Just read the next verse-- these things aren't hush hush.

When you 'check in' on your mobile device

You're sharing your locus in a way that's concise.

And a cell phone 'push' is not quite so mean...

It's simply a message that looms on the screen.

So now SHOO!  Dash away!  Go scare up some treats!

Here's hoping your fourth is packed with a lot
of cookouts and ice cream and pies made of cherry,
And that you are able to find a great spot
to watch fireworks, like up in an aerie.

Birds of a Father

My Dad just loves to spend hours and hours

Pointing out birds and quizzing on flowers

Checking the air in all four of my tires

Making sure I own a good pair of pliers.

And back when helped me with projects for school

He'd go down to his workshop and sit on his stool

And build what I needed with great care and pride

While I was probably playing with my friends outside. :)

'Twas the night before Christmas, and Jen still had not 

Sent out any cards yet, but she hadn't forgot 

All her great friends and family, whom she wishes much cheer 

(She just thought she'd cut back on paper this year).

Turkey Trivia: Wild turkeys can indeed fly, at about 55 miles per hour, but only in short bursts. This usually just gets them into a tree so they can crash... er, sleep, for the night.

4th of July 2009

I'm off to cross the country (my country 'tis of thee),
To see some states I haven't seen, like Kansas and Missouri.

The 66 will take us through the "land of Pilgram's pride"
while freedom rings as I won't have my iBook by my side!
