I designed this image for the MIT homepage to publicize the beginning of Energy Futures Week, a series of events about energy technologies, policy, research, careers, and action steps that was coordinated by the Energy Initiative.
I drew this comic in celebration of being offered the position of student activities coordinator with the MIT Energy Initiative (aka, MITEI, pronounced 'mighty'!) I am really looking forward to working with students again, at my alma mater, and in a fairly newly established program with globally important goals. My role in the program will include providing guidance to energy and sustainability student groups, helping to organize student leadership events, and coordinating student/faculty relationships for relevant research projects.
I cannot believe it's already July! Spring here in Boston always seems to fly by. But I guess with the Celtics' spectacular scores, And the restaurants' wide open patio doors, It's no wonder I haven't kept track of the time.
...SO, while my comic has little to do with this rhyme, I wish you a Fourth that's an absolute blast! Let's hope it's not over and done with so fast...
(Coincidentally, I'll be in NYC this year for the 4th. But I'll be driving, so I can bring my torch if I darn well please.)
